America the Beautiful (Week 101)

Monday, July 7, 2025  8:07am

Hi everyone, good to see you all here still. It's been quite the interesting week, a lot of different emotions all mixed together, but I think the biggest thing I'm feeling this week is gratitude.

I'm grateful for the last week I had working. We visited a lot of members and friends to say goodbye a little and had some amazing lessons, the majority of them very bittersweet. Saying goodbye to Tamara, Horacio, and Noah was especially hard, but I know I'm leaving them in very good hands.

I'm grateful for the companions I've been blessed with. Every single one of them has become a very close friend of mine that I was able to learn so much from. No single one of them was alike, but that never mattered we always got along and served well. I'm happy to say that I have a lot more brothers now, just a bit more spread around the world than before.

I'm grateful for the areas I served in. Again, just like my companions, every area was different with its specific quirks and functionalities, and I had to change and adapt to every single one of them, but as I did so, I really came to love the people I met, members and nonmembers, everyone, even people who rejected the message, helped me to learn how I can spread the light of Christ and I love them for that.

I'm grateful for my mission leaders. For all the district leaders, zone leaders, senior companions, and especially for my two mission presidents. These people's goals have always been to help me serve and convert others better while having a better conversion myself, and I can definitely say they accomplished their goal. Even though I may not remember every conference, every training, and every division I had, they all are part of this formative experience in the mission and it would not have been the same without it.

I'm the most grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and for the impact that He has had in my life. I have really come to know and love Him in a way I didn't think was possible before, and because of that, I have seen His hand in everything, it's incredible. The scriptures have especially helped me with that, being able to read the testimonies and experiences of prophets that actually apply to our lives is such a beautiful thing, I want to continue reading and coming to know my Savior after this is over because I know that He will continue to help me throughout my entire life, even though I'm not a missionary.

Finally, I'm grateful for you all! Thanks again for being here with me in my time here and for all the support you have given me in a time where I especially needed it. Yall are wonderful, hope you know that.

Well! That's it I guess. Two years done, served in this beautiful part of America. It's kinda hilarious that I missed the USA's independence day and now I miss Argentina's, it's fine we're fine. Hope yall have a great night, remember to pray always, and that's no joke!

Much love for the last time from:
-Elder Montgomery
