Enfermero Montgomery Me Llaman (Week 70)

Monday, December 2, 2024   8:18pm

Hi everyone, buenas noches/tardes/lo que sea!

This week was bastante interesante, as we say in Spanish, so lemme explain.

First off, we did divisions in Bolivar, a city the other side of the zone, on Monday and Tuesday, which ended up being cut short because one of the elders in the area had to go to Bahía that afternoon to do some visa  paperwork. That's chill, happens a lot, at least we got some work done there and had a fun pday and stuff. We also got home at like 20hrs, which gave us no time to work but plenty to make a barbecue chicken pizza, que rico.

We had a more or less normal day of work on Wednesday, we had a dude that seemed like he was going to progress a lot give us back the Book of Mormon because he didn't feel like he was sufficiently stimulated intellectually by it, which I guess was a good sign that we could let him go, but now we have another Book to give to someone else, so that works I guess.

Thursday was Thanksgiving!! We ended up having a few lessons that day, so we worked nice and hard in the morning, then picked up the other American and called some family more towards the evening. Also made a big dinner of Barbecue Chicken Mac and Cheese with a dessert of brownies, and it was fabulous.

Well, then we get to Friday. Friday seemed like it was going to be normal, but I ended up sitting around in a hospital for about ten hours that day without food or water. I'm fine, it wasn't me that was admitted, but prayers went out for Elder Paredes from basically everyone, because we started divisions together, his stomach was hurting, we went to the clinic to get him checked out, and he ends up having appendicitis and needing his appendix removed right then and there. All I did for the most of the day was make calls and send messages to the mission office, branch, zone, basically everyone. He's fine, the surgery went great and he's recovering, but the funniest part was everyone in the branch calling me 'enfermero Montgomery' or 'nurse Montgomery' on Sunday. I like didn't do much to help, but thanks I guess haha.

But yeah, after a whole fiasco like that, it was nice to get back to working on Saturday, even if nothing really happened work-wise.

At least all the not doing anything this week gave me a lot of time to study! I read through pretty much all of 3rd and 4th Nephi this week, which has put me in a great mood for the Christmas season we're entering in now, because that's why we celebrate it, right? Our Lord and Savior, literally the hope of everyone was born that day, all the hopes of the prophets and believers were fulfilled that day, they knew that that little baby would one day break the bands of death and allow everyone to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. Pretty heavy and awesome stuff, and I'm excited to share the message this month!

Anyways, it's SUUUUPER LATE, that's a theme with me I'm noticing lol. But yeah, love you guys, hope you have a great week!
See ya later!
