Hunting For Your Dreams (Week 89)

Monday, April 14, 2025   7:34pm

Hi everyone, how you doing? Yep, back again with another thrilling week of interesting things to talk about.

Started off the week strong with interviews with President, and he had a wonderful surprise for everyone: transfer news! Quite a bit earlier than usual, but that's chilling. So to fill yall in, I'm staying in San Martin for another round, and my comp, Elder Roque will be heading for Castex, all the way in the Santa Rosa zone, but not before seeing my new comp, Elder Moran, who is coming from General Pico, my first area! Pretty cool, I'm excited to start this new transfer off! We also should be getting a new house soon that's actually in our area. More on that later.

The next day we had our Zone Conference, which was very focused on helping our friends get to church. There's a lot more that we should be doing than just inviting and sending messages on Saturday, much like our own personal preparation for our Sunday observance shouldn't just be something we think about the day before. So yeah, that's something I'd love to apply better to my form of work now. It was also great to see a lot of old friends I hadn't seen in a while there. And eat some amazing empanadas. Can't forget the empanadas.

Well, after all that excitement, we must have been pretty motivated, because we found quite a few new friends who seem pretty interested! There were a couple that really stood out to me:
Federico and Cinthia, a younger couple who are pretty religious but aren't currently going to a church, so of course we've swooped in to give them somewhere to go.
And also Juan Carlos, he's the son of an inactive member who happens to not be baptized and just recently started reading the Bible on his own time. So of course we've swooped in and got him to start reading the Book of Mormon alongside it two. All in all, it was a pretty awesome week finding wise, the next one should be even better!

Also had a lesson with our friend Noelia, it was kinda short though, because she had to start working or something, so we weren't able to explain a lot of things with as much depth as I would like or respond to her questions, but it's chill, we have her number and we'll resolve any doubts here soon.

Something president showed us in conference kinda stuck with all of us, which was actually part of a scripture in Doctrine and Covenants. The scripture mentions that at the beginning of the Restoration, the Lord would send fishermen to gather Israel, but later would send hunters to gather, and in these days, we are those hunters. To explain, in the early days of the church, someone could easily stand in a square, preach, and baptize someone that night, much like a fisherman waiting with nets, bringing in a lot of fish, but now, much like hunters, we have to be very focused on a single task, or person, in order to succeed, never losing patience or sight on the end goal. We all liked the comparison a lot, and on top of everything, my favorite anime is Hunter X Hunter, so my fan boy brain was going crazy hearing president say, 'You all are Hunters.'

Well yeah, pretty much my week! Hope your weeks is great! OH YEAH EASTER IS THIS SUNDAY! I hope you all can also have a great Semana Santa, make sure to remember Christ, His sacrifice, and His resurrection in all things, because types, shadows, and representations of them are everywhere!
Anyways, love you all! Hasta la proxima!
