Hey everyone, yep, it's Big Me, Your Hero, Elder Montgomery!! Yet another week has Learned to Fly and now there's No Way Back to it. At Times Like These, it's always nice to look back and really see what the Best of You and the Lord was during your week.
So, as we have been gradually been finding more and more people, we have been able to filter out the not-so-interested ones and the never-en-casa ones and now we have a pretty good teaching base! Even this week, we were able to find quite a few and most of them very interested in the Gospel!
First off, we had a great lesson with a fellow named Guillermo, who's said he was kinda agnostic at first, but as we went along teaching about the Plan of Salvation, he started talking about how he was sure God wanted this and that good thing for His children. Cool to see someone's heart changing a little bit right in front of you so quickly! We left him with a pamphlet about the Restoration of the church, which should turn out well, he mentioned he really likes history, so I'm excited for the next lesson we might have with him!
We've been teaching a lady named Julieta for a bit, and she's super nice and so open to the teachings of the church, I love it. She also lives a block away from our house, which is a huge advantage, because it was her birthday on Monday, so during the week we made some brownies and brought them over to her with another present too: The Book of Mormon, probably the best present I can think of. She actually loved it and was excited to hear that there was record of God's interactions with the people of the Ancient Americas. She has been passing for some tough moments, and just this morning she sent us a text saying that she's been reading the BoM and it's helped her to feel more at peace. WOW, almost like the book is true or something! Anyways, I really want her to come to church this Sunday, it'll probably take some work to get her there, but I know she'd love it.
Also talked to a wonderful lady named Margarita! She had met with missionaries a while ago and remembered a few things about Joseph Smith and the BoM, and she really wanted to get her hands on a copy. We taught her the Restoration real fast and promised to bring back a Book, which we did with the help of a member, who bore some very strong testimony, it was nuts. We should be visiting her again soon, can't wait to see what she's read. I also think she has a car, so a good chance she could come to church on her own.
We had Zone Conference!! It was a lot of fun and we all learned quite a bit about how we can plan our days and weeks out a bit better, as well as how we can act more missionary-like in every situation. They also gave us flu shots which is good because it's been going around. Unfortunately in my case, they were a little late to the party, because I've been Kung Flu Fighting this whole week trying not to be completely sick. My nose has been stuffed up the whole week though and I am not appreciative, but we'll be fine. I think. Anyways, I only have one Zone Conference left now, which is crazy to think about.
Oh yeah, had I mentioned? I officially am going home July 9th. Wild, right? It's kinda weird to think about, but it's fine, cuz I'll Stick Around a little bit longer now, This Is just A Call to start working even harder, to Walk, Run, and Come Alive until the end. Ain't It The Life? Welp, see yall next Monday, not Everlong away!
Love you all!!
