Santos Cangrejos, Soy Viejo (Week 93)

Monday, May 12, 2025   9:07pm

Hola amiguitos, como andan todos ustedes?

Alrighty then, this week what did I get up to?

Helped out a guy named Alejandro bring home his groceries after the boxes he was carrying broke and his stuff went everywhere. He was really nice and asked us who we are and what we were doing, and after explaining a bit the mission, he was way down to talk with us again. We gave him a LdM right then and there, and then passed by later in the week, where we read with him and his brother about the importance of baptism in 3rd Nefi, which brought the Spirit so strongly that Alejandro started to tear up, which he didnt understand but we explained it was the Spirit, which made him really happy to hear and recognize. While they didn't think they were ready to set a date, they really want to change their lives and now know that the church and the Gospel of Christ are the way to do that. So hopefully soon we'll see some cool progress here in San Martin!

Found some inactive part member families, one of them specifically is a mom with a 10 year old daughter who wants to get baptized. Excuse me what? Wants to get baptized? I know, doesn't happen that often. We still have to meet the daughter, but the mom is free on Sundays, to which she said 'So I have no excuses to not show up to church.' How right you are, Hermana lol. We should be able to get a lot of them up and going especially with:

A new bishop! Yeah, this last Sunday, our bishop was changed for a new one, which nothing against the old bishop, dude is a dawg and is now part of the stake council, but changes in the ward always bring new energy to it as well, so I can't wait to see what happens to this wonderful ward here in the next couple months!

To explain the title a bit:
1-My comp speaks English really well, but the phrase 'holy crap' was heard as 'holy crabs' and now I will be using Santos Cangrejos my whole life, thank you very much.
2-Yeah, I had a birthday, and while I won't shout hooray, it was pretty fun. I don't know how they did it, but the Releif Society somehow found out and the whole ward was sending me well wishes the whole day, which was very sweet of them. We also had gotten invited to a Family Home Evening with a family, and surprise surprise, after they teach an awesome lesson about the brother of Jared and Faith, they pull out a cake with my face on it. It was honestly a lot of fun, a lot better than the mosquito plague that happened last year haha.

A lot of you know I love reading, and I think I have a new favorite book. I already mentioned it a lot, I know, but Jesus the Christ is such an amazing book. I have learned so much about my Savior in the last few weeks that I've been reading it, and through this understanding I feel even closer to Him. As I have tried even harder to follow His example of wisdom, charity, and obedience, I have seen so many more blessings in my personal life and my life as a missionary. So yeah, I highly recommend for anyone who needs something to read, you won't regret it.

Annnnnd yeah, that's been my week! Yall are pretty cool for being here another one, you know that? Anyways, hope yalls week is amazing, that yall see many miracles and many blessings in every moment!
Love yall tons!!
